I am a competent and experienced ECSA-registered Mechatronics engineer with a can-do attitude. I am an enthusiastic go-getter with a hands-on approach, and have several years’ institutional knowledge of UCT.
I studied Mechatronics at UCT and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
UCT has also been my place of work since 2009. My first job at UCT involved furthering the development of an Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) instrument designed collaboratively by the the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The success of this work culminated in me co-authoring several publications and presenting a paper at the 2014 World Congress on Industrial Process Tomography (WCIPT) in Krakow, Poland.
I have also worked as a Systems Engineer for a UCT incubated company, developing automated test rigs for chemical engineering catalytic processes.
Since 2013, I have been Chief Technical Officer and Electronics Workshop manager for the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCT.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling the Karoo with my wife, and flying. I am in the process of pursuing a Private Pilot License (PPL).
